NEUROLOGICAL HEALTH

Hormone replacement theraoy, particularly estrogen, has also been shown to have neuroprotective effects on the brain. It maintains brain volume and function reducing amyloid plaques and supporting neurotransmitters. When used mid-life it has been shown to improve cognition and memory. As a result it may add a significant contribution to preventing the advancement of dementia. This is especially important since woman may live half of their lives in menopause.

These physical and emotional changes are completely typical of the perimenopause stage. However, intervention with hormone replacement therapy, and other lifestyle changes, can be incredibly helpful for managing symptoms and maintaining quality of life as you transition through the next stages.

At the point that you have not had a period for at least twelve months, your body will have entered the phase referred to as menopause. For most women the average age that the body enters menopause is around your 50s, but can occur earlier or later, based on certain factors such as genetics, lifestyle, and overall health.
During menopause estrogen levels, progesterone, and fertility continue to decline. At this time, you will likely experience symptoms similar to those in perimenopause with the most noticeable changes including:
These symptoms should continue to lessen as you reach the post-menopause phase, and most women welcome the transition to no longer having to worry about periods or pregnancy.
That said, the changes associated with menopause and your hormones can make your body more vulnerable to other serious health concerns. Because estrogen and progesterone are responsible for essential functions related to the reproductive and cardiovascular systems, bone health and mineral metabolism, and memory and cognition, it is highly recommended that you continue hormone replacement therapy and implement supportive lifestyle changes.

Hormone Replacement Therapy

Utilizing bioidentical hormones, hormone injection therapy works quickly and effectively to deliver what your body needs and restore healthy hormone levels. This approach is a quick, easy, and effective way to get the hormones your body needs to function optimally.

As a result, you’ll be able to get rapid relief from debilitating hot flashes, as well as enjoy better sleep, lessened anxiety, and an improved sex life. Throughout all stages – including perimenopause, menopause, and even post-menopause – HRT can help.

Other Lifestyle Changes to Consider

When combined with HRT, we find that reducing physical and mental stress can be very helpful for managing symptoms of menopause, as well as lowering your risk of brittle bones and heart disease post-menopause.

In addition to hormone replacement therapy, we recommend prioritizing healthy lifestyle habits such as balanced eating, exercise, and cutting back on smoking and alcohol intake.

Is there a limit to how long I can stay on HRT once I start?

There is no limit to how long you can stay on hormone treatments if you are happy with the results. One main purpose of the 8-week follow up with our medical staff is to make sure the prescribed treatments are working well for patients. Our medical staff is always here to continue to follow up and adjust the treatment plan to best meet the patients’ needs long-term.

What makes your medications different from birth control or something my gynecologist would prescribe me?

The hormones we provide are bioidentical; this means they are much safer for long-term use. Bioidentical hormones have a high compatibility rate, meaning they act nearly identical to the hormones your body would naturally produce. This high compatibility rate is ideal for hormones because it means your body is more likely to fully utilize the hormones, resulting in optimization of your overall health.

Why topical treatment vs. injections?

We believe in giving our patients maximum benefits while simultaneously minimizing overall risk. Therefore, some medications are more effectively and safely absorbed into the skin topically vs. entering the body via capsules or injections.

Can I pay monthly for an HRT treatment plan?

Yes. We do offer monthly installments plans for your treatments.
